Fundraising continues to benefit the Kathleen Mary House Organization. This is a follow up week of fundraising after our event.

Team One strike ran this event in honor of two of our own Young Dragons who were directly affected by this horrific silent epidemic. Chase, who lost his beautiful and loving Mother and Khyri who lost his fun and loving uncle. Both children were present at the time of the incidents.

Students and instructors of One Strike Buffalo Isshin Ryu Karate and Kobudu school broke many boards using various techniques including traditional Okinawa weapons. Young dragon students broke balloons and some even broke their first board.

Children exposed to domestic violence are more likely to suffer from problems including anxiety, depression, physical aggression and sleep issues, according to Erica Weiler-Timmins, a psychologist at the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pa. About a third of the students, who are all from low-income families, have been exposed to domestic violence. (sited from USA Today February 20, 2018)
