About the event
Fundraising begins October 1st to benefit the Kathleen Mary House Organization.
Team One strike is running this event in honor of two of our own Young Dragons who were directly affected by this horrific silent epidemic. Chase, who lost his beautiful and loving Mother and Khyri who lost his fun and loving uncle. Both children were present at the time of the incidents.
Students and instructors of One Strike Buffalo Isshin Ryu Karate and Kobudu school will break many boards and roofing tiles using various techniques including traditional Okinawa weapons. Young dragon students will break balloons are invited to bring guests to also break balloons.
Non-students are welcome to stop in to watch, however it is a small school, and seating is limited. Water and light snacks will be provided. Please feel free to bring in your own drink, but please no sugary ones. Guests are asked to take off their shoes before entering the dojo and stay in the guest designated areas.
Children exposed to domestic violence are more likely to suffer from problems including anxiety, depression, physical aggression and sleep issues, according to Erica Weiler-Timmins, a psychologist at the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pa. About a third of the students, who are all from low-income families, have been exposed to domestic violence. (sited from USA Today February 20, 2018)
Please help us raise money to support this organization and help them provide assistance to the women and children in our local area.
